Betula Alba Leaf Extract
Betula Alba leaf extract comes from the bark and leaves of the birch tree. This substance has many medicinal uses and health benefits and is a particularly useful ingredient in various cosmetic and skincare products.
Betula Alba leaf extract has anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties. It is also depurative (an herb that has purifying and detoxifying effects) and astringent (causes the skin to contract, removing irritants from the skin’s surface).
Hedera Helix Extract (Ivy)
Hedera helix extract, also known English ivy, is a vine that grows throughout Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom, as well as North and South America and parts of Asia. The leaves of the vine have been used in various forms of medicine since the early nineteenth century.
In skincare products, hedera helix extract is used primarily as a moisturizing agent. By preventing water loss, this substance can soften and smooth the skin. Likewise, it is used as an astringent, removing excess oil from the skin. Also, it has antibacterial properties, working to keep skin clean and healthy.
Viscum Album Extract (Mistletoe)
Viscum album extract, also known as European mistletoe, has been used in herbal medicine since the early 1900s to treat a wide variety of conditions, including eczema.
Largely used for reducing blood pressure, the properties of this plant could help to improve the condition of various types of damaged skin. Although some research does exist on the topic, there are insufficient findings to support some of the more specific claims associated with this plant’s healing powers.
