ORGANIC INGREDIENTS
Millions of people in Canada and the United States experience this nightmare, desperately seeking relief from their daily discomfort and irritated skin. The over-use of some prescription skincare products can make the skin too thin and overly sensitive, creating more skin-problems instead of solving existing ones.
One of our main goals is to be completely transparent with the customer. We don’t want there to be any confusion about what goes into our products, and that’s why we try to give you as much information as possible before making a purchase.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q1. How does eczema work?
Atopic dermatitis, the most common type of eczema, causes an immune response in the body, which sends inflammatory signals to the surface of the skin. This can lead to redness, rashes, and other types of skin damage. These inflammatory signals cause a small itchy rash to form, which, when scratched, breaks down the outer skin barrier and releases even more inflammatory signals.
Basically, the inflammation causes an itch-cycle to begin, where a person scratches because of inflammation, and then causes more inflammation by continuing to scratch. When skin is moisturized, there is less of a chance that it will itch, thus reducing the amount of inflammation and allowing the rash or wounds to heal.
Eczemamedica’s eczema relief product has a combination of natural ingredients that soothe and moisturize skin, alleviating discomfort from damaged areas while nourishing the skin to protect against future inflammation and damage.
Q2. What are the most common places on the body to get eczema?
Eczema can appear on any part of the body. But for the most part, eczema is most commonly found in the following areas:
- Hands and feet
- Backs of the knees
- Insides of the elbows
- Face (cheeks)
- Behind the ears
- Buttocks
Q3. What are the most common causes of eczema?
We don’t have a definitive answer, but we think that eczema is caused by a combination of a person’s genes as well as a series of environmental factors and triggers. An overactive immune system may contribute to extra inflammation, aggravating skin that is already sensitive.
Stress has also been shown to act as a trigger for existing eczema. However, emotional stress is difficult to measure, and there isn’t a lot of research to support this theory.
Alternatively, some research has shown that people with eczema may have a mutation for a gene that is responsible for creating filaggrin, a protein that plays a role in the maintenance of a protective barrier on top of the outermost layer of skin.
To prevent dry skin, and therefore to keep from itching, moisturize and nourish your skin with Eczemamedica’s relief product, available in cream or spray. You may not be able to control your genes or many of the environmental factors and triggers around you, but you can definitely do something for your damaged skin with these all-natural products.
Q4. How can eczema be cured?
Unfortunately, there is no single cure for eczema. The best that healthcare professionals can do is treat the symptoms. Based on the individual, doctors can and do often prescribe and recommend a number of different treatments with varying rates of success.
What we do know for sure is that nourishing and moisturizing the skin on a regular basis keeps the skin from breaking down, reduces itching, and in turn gives the skin a real opportunity to heal.
Our products can’t cure eczema (nothing can, really), but they can provide your skin with safe, effective relief from uncomfortable symptoms associated with this troubling condition.
Q5. What are the different types of eczema?
There are several different types of eczema, including atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, discoid eczema, varicose eczema, and asteatotic eczema.
Atopic dermatitis is the most common form of eczema and is categorized by dry patches of skin that become red, flaky, inflamed and that causes the individual to itch. Scratching often worsens the already damaged area of skin. Likewise, environmental factors can cause flare-ups of sensitive areas of skin. Although there is no known cure for this type of eczema, various topical skincare solutions are used to treat symptoms.
Q6. Is eczema contagious? Do I have to worry about it spreading to others?
No, eczema is not contagious. You do not have to worry about eczema being spread to others, or about contracting eczema from someone else.
Q7. How do I stop eczema from itching at night?
Scratching skin that is already sensitive and damaged at night will make it so that your skin never has the opportunity to heal. But, for a number of reasons, the skin can become itchier at night than during the day, making sleeping a difficult task for many people with eczema.
Besides keeping your skin moisturized before bedtime, there are a few other things you can do to keep from itching as much at night. First, you can bathe at night right before bed. Bathing and applying a quality moisturizer, like Eczemamedica’s eczema relief product, can keep your skin hydrated throughout the night. Taking a shower and moisturizing may help to lock in the moisture and keep your skin hydrated for longer throughout the night. Secondly, avoid harsh fabrics and allergens that might irritate skin close to bedtime. Once your skin starts itching and you start scratching, the cycle begins and you will be scratching all night!
Q8. Can eczema be treated without using products with steroids?
Although there has still not been a cure found for eczema, steroid creams are often prescribed as a way to manage undesirable symptoms of damaged skin. However, the overuse of these creams can lead to the skin breaking down, becoming thinner and weaker, and becoming exposed to more damage and infections over time.
There is clear research showing the potential damage that can be done to the skin by the extended use of products with steroids. However, there is also research showing that there are alternative treatments that do not include steroids that are safe, effective, and accessible. For example, research has shown that topical B vitamins can treat eczema and damaged skin. Fittingly, Eczemamedica’s eczema relief products contain B vitamins (and much more).
